Crockery, cutlery & cacti
So much ground work is happening outside! You can really see now just how impressive the new orangery will be, and we’ve had Jim Cossey back to show you all. He’s taken another rather impressive drone video and plenty of pictures for our albums. As you can see the outside walls are starting to take shape, you can really see the scale of the extension. The glass is going in for the skylights in the toilet block too so the internals on those can start. They will be one of the first parts of the refurbishment to open and hopefully that will happen later next month.
Internally we’re beginning to order new glassware, crockery & cutlery… fingers crossed we find somewhere to store it all! You wouldn’t believe how long we’ve all been looking for crockery (and the lengths of the country we’ve gone to!) but we’ve decided on the gorgeous, renowned Country House collection by Soho Home. We can’t wait to see it against our stunning new tables from Bampton Design. Talking of tables, our lovely florist Ann Laing has also been in to discuss what’s going on them. So far we’re thinking succulents and tea lights… what do you reckon? She’s also decided on which palms will be going in the new orangery, and what faux flowers we’ll have and where. We can’t wait to see the room ‘come to life!’
