We can see wheel barrows, shovels and work boots galore! Walls have been knocked down, the garden has been fenced off and digging has started … we have holes! Okay, perhaps not something to usually get us too excited but it’s the long awaited first signs that the building work has started!

Phase 1 of the project will be the construction of a brand-new loo block (shown on the right-hand side of the plans), but before this can start new drains need to be run across the whole of the site. I agree, not the most interesting of topics to write about, but keep your eyes peeled for lots of progress pictures on social media. The garden is still fully accessible and still one of the best al fresco spots in Berkshire so we invite you all to come and have a nose around soon … we’ll keep the wine chilled!
